Super visor Zimmerman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll call present were Zimmerman, Majewski, Tobin, Hardin and Carey. Also present were County Comm. Lockmiller, Lakes Dir. Carey, Planning Chair Hamilton, Fire Chief Majewski, Building Insp. Mantei, Zoning Admn. Lambert, ZBA member Hudson, Planning Sec. Szczpanski, Road Comm. Eng. Stocking and 2 other interested persons.

Minutes of the 11 Jan. 2010 meeting accepted as read.
Minutes of the 19 Jan. 2010 special meeting accepted as read.
Treasurer’s report approved as presented.

Motion by Hardin to pay the monthly bills, second by Tobin, roll call vote, 5 yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Zimmerman to approve a fire fund expenditure of $1325.00 plus shipping for the purpose of purchasing 6 overhaul masks and filters, second by Tobin, all in favor, motion carried.

Chief Majewski reported 2 mutual aid, 25 rescue and 3 fire related runs for the month of January, 30 year to date.

Motion by Tobin to approve a general fund expenditure of $1000.00 for the purchase of a cemetery computer program including support and services, second by Hardin, all in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Majewski to approve a general fund expenditure of $750.00 for the purchase of 3 USA and 2 Michigan flags and poles for the twp hall and fire hall, second by Tobin, all in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Zimmerman to change the townships legal notice publication from the Review to the Cleaver, second by Hardin, all in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Zimmerman to adjust the pay scale for probationary fire fighters from $11.00 per hour to the mid level pay scale of $12.50 per hour once they have completed either FFI or MFR, retro to Dec. 01, 2009 and once personnel have completed the 2nd phase of training, either FFI or MFR and have attained certificates in both, that they then be moved to the regular pay scale of $15.50 per hour plus pension, second by Carey, all in favor, motion carried.

Rolf Hudson asked if fire fighters have an indefinite period of time to attain the FFI and MFR Certificates. Zimmerman and Chief Majewski said that they have 2 years per the requirements, but that extra time is sometimes allowed if the circumstances warrant.

MikeTobin inquired about the DNR 6X6 that Chief Majewski recently went and evaluated. Majewski said that it was not in good condition.

Tom Godau expressed his dissatisfaction with the board’s decision to change our legal notice publication from the Review to the Cleaver.

Motion by Hardin to adjourn the meeting, second by Carey, all in favor, meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
