Lincoln Township Board
09 April 2007
Supervisor Ringley called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call present were, Galloway, Branam, Ringley and Majewski. Absent-West.
Also present were, Lakes Dir. Carey,
Building Insp. Mantei, Fire Chief Majewski, Zoning Admin. Lambert, ZBA Chairman
Hamilton, Road Commission Engineer Stocking, Deputy Wilson and 8 other
interested persons.
12 March public hearing minutes accepted as read.
12 March regular meeting minutes accepted as presented.
Treasurer’s report accepted as presented.
Motion by Galloway to pay the monthly bills, second by Branam, roll call vote 4
yea, no nay, motion carried.
Chief Majewski gave the fire dept. report.
Motion by Branam to approve Brandon Anderson to the fire dept. pending physical
and background investigation, second by Galloway, all in favor, motion carried.
There were 1 mutual aid, 16 rescue, and 2 power line related runs for the month
of March, 63 year to date.
Motion by Branam to approve a fire fund expenditure of $120.00 plus mileage for
the fire chief to attend the safety conference in Grand Rapids, second by
Ringley, all in favor, motion carried.
The new number for burn permits is: 1-866-922-2876.
The new concrete is pitting at the fire hall probably due to salt run off.
The board agreed that putting up 2 Wood Duck boxes at the Shingle Lake Park was
a good idea. JR will donate posts if necessary and Carol will seek donations for
the building of the boxes.
Motion by Galloway to set a public hearing regarding the proposed zoning
amendments for 6:00 p.m on 14 May 2007, second by Branam, all in favor, motion
carried.
Ringley is researching the possibility of the township selling the Bertha Lake
Lots on Finley Lake Ave.
Motion by Branam
to approve a general fund expenditure of $2250.00, the township share of the
total $4500.00 cost for Wilcox to perform a topographical survey necessary to
proceed with the Downtown Enhancement Grant Project, second by Galloway, all in
favor, motion carried.
Motion by Branam to approve Michigan Chloride to do our road brining for the
year, approximately 4 applications, second by Galloway, all in favor, motion
carried.
The road commission gave the township a permit to install the ordinance #22 sign
on their property adjacent to the boat launch on Lake George.
Public comment:
Deputy John Wilson announced his candidacy for Sheriff in the 2008 election.
Majewski informed the board that the maintenance department had realized a
$29,000.00 budget savings as compared to the last fiscal year. With there being
still approximately 3 months left in this fiscal year, the actual savings will
be
an estimated $24,000.00.
Motion by Branam to adjourn the meeting, second by Galloway, all in favor,
meeting adjourned at 8:42 p.m.
