LINCOLN TOWNSHIP YARD WASTE SERVICES
|
Yard Waste Service: We will begin collecting yard waste this Friday April 17th, 2009 and continue each Friday through May 29th. Memorial Day will be observed on Monday May 25th and therefore we will be collecting trash a day late throughout that week. Therefore, we may have to delay the last day of yard waste collection until Saturday depending on weather and the volume of yard waste at the curb. We will make every effort to collect on Friday that week as not to confuse the residents, but they may be expecting us to run a day late anyway. Important: You need to have your yard waste at the curb on or before your trash collection day prior to the truck collecting your trash. Lincoln Sanitation requires this so they know where to send the trucks on Friday. Preparation: You can place yard waste in paper compost bags as said in local hardware stores, and grocery stores or you can utilize trash cans free of litter and water for Lincoln Sanitation to dump and leave at your curb. Please keep yard waste dry and light as possible bags or containers cannot exceed 30 pounds. Another option. is for the residents to take the compost directly to the compost site located on Arthur Road just east of the church. The hours of operation will be posted at the entrance. Do not leave any trash or containers behind at this site. Paper compost bags are okay to leave there. This service is on a trial basis: Lincoln Sanitation has offered to increase the level of this service to Lincoln Township at no additional cost for this year’s Spring and Fall seasons. Yard waste service for future years will be dependent on your input, additional costs incurred, and participation at the Compost Site. Thank you all in advance for your cooperation on this enhanced service. |
