Hi, I think I'm taking this leisure time too serious. The other day I was so absorbed in the book I'm reading that I burned the carrots and this is not the first time, ask Camilla. I do read a lot and I'm finding good books at our center. Everyone at our center are bringing books to share, we're getting quite a library. We also have jigsaw puzzles and magazines. This another good reason to come ad join us, you can get a good book, have a good lunch and make new friends. Call Cheryl one day in advance at (989) 588-9841. We really enjoy our Grocery Bingo, and last week Bob McInnis called. Peggy and Stella usually call, so they are glad that Bob does once in a while. We do have many who volunteer doing little jobs such as cleaning the tables after, so we want to thank Evelyn for that. Evelyn usually sets up the bingo on Thursdays and she puts out all the groceries that we use for prizes, and others help her also. There is a lot more work to do after lunch and that's washing the trays and cooking utensils so many thanks to Camilla and Martha, they do a good job. I usually help drying the silverware and Stella wraps them. What would we do without Harrold, he sees that we all get our milk. Thanks to John and Dorothy, they take care of the trash. We have a great team doing many things and our center always looks clean and neat. Cheryl is doing a great job--she's a keeper--and to Kelli and her kitchen helpers. We really enjoy our meals. I'm sure you are enjoying your new kitchen facility's in the new Clare Castle Senior Housing and Senior center. Now lets see what they are cooking up for next week. Monday Aug. 2nd: Sloppy Joes, Coleslaw, Carrots and Peas and Pears. Mon. Aug. 3rd: Spanish Rice, Refried Beans Broccoli and Cauliflower, Apricots. Wed. Aug. 4th: Breakfast Casserole, Asparagus, Fruit Salad, Pear. Thur. Aug. 5th: Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Spinach, Bananas with Choc, and Pudding. Fri. Aug 6th: Polish Sausage & Sauerkraut, Green Beans, Peas Onions. (Click HERE to view the menus for the whole month) We are looking forward to the Open House on Aug. 4th. See you there! Now to be a little serious, It seems like once a week we hear of another Michigan Serviceman has been killed. It makes me sad as I'm sure it does you. I think it's time to double our prayers for Peace and bring our Service men and Women back home. Jenny Kelly |
